Position Overview

Reporting to the Metallurgical Laboratory Supervisor (or Senior Metallurgical Engineer), the positions primary duty will be to assist operations with technical issues at both flotation and the leaching & SXEW operations. In addition, this position could be requested to fill in for supervisors at both operations from time to time. The position is responsible will also assists in conducting metallurgical tests and improvement projects at milling, flotation and LSXEW plants.

Responsibility

  • Analyze Concentrator or LSXEW performance by calculating reagent use, sampling process stream, checking mill circuit, flotation circuit, inspecting process controls analyzing performance
  • Applicant must have good oral and written communications skills
  • Should be capable of training and assist in developing our plant operators
  • Should be able to analyze and correctly report daily metallurgical reports
  • Be able to conduct metallurgical accounting for the plants
  • Be able to develop and implement optimization and cost reduction strategies on plant consumables
  • Ensure that work practices within the concentrator, filter plant, and tailings areas, and Leach-SX-EW areas, comply with company, local, state, and federal safety and environmental standards.
  • Interact with workforce and Human Resources, Purchasing, Accounting, etc., to ensure compliance with established company policies
  • Be able to assist in training and mentoring of metallurgical engineer I and Technicians in gaining new skills and achieving their full potential
  • Report results from testing and evaluation to the Senior Metallurgical Engineer and the metallurgical Lab Manager.
  • Substitute as Control Room Supervisor position as needed, and run plant with KSCAPE
  • Become familiar with all aspects of the Metallurgical Technician job and help out when the need arises.
  • Maintain and optimize the Concentrator DCS systems, familiar with instrumentation and process control, data historian, data acquisition and reporting.
